    DVD Drive

I was previously using Nero 10 Burning ROM to burn a DVD on my Samsung DVD drive, when it told me that data verification failed. When I went to My Computer to check my DVD, I realised that the DVD Drive is missing. I conducted a search, but I could not find the DVD drive. As I have lost the original box of my DVD drive, I was unable to find out the serial number. What should I do?

hi locat, and welcome to sevenforums,

are you sure that the drive is faulty, not just the one disc?

try putting in a dvd movie disc, and see if that shows up.

also windows explorer is set up by default to not show empty drives - in windows explorer, hit the 'alt' key on your keyboard >> this should bring up a menu bar near the top of the window >> click tools >> folder options >> goto view tab >> untick 'hide empty drives in the computer folder' - your drive should now show up.

if it turns out that your drive is indeed faulty, don't worry as they are cheap, of a standard universal type and size, and are simple to replace.

    Hello locat
Alongside of mickey solution, you can see if your DVD is in place by doing this:
Open control panel, click administrative tools, computer management then storage & click on
    Disk management.
    Hope that help
