    Tv tuner Avermedia98 (bt848/878) problem on 64bit Win 7

Hello, i have a problem with my old pci Avermedia98 tv tuner with bt848 or 878 chip. I have been using this tv tuner in windows xp and in windows 7 32bit version(manual installation of drivers in device manager). Now i have installed 64bit Windows 7 and i cant make my tv tuner to work. I did manage to install Audio and Video capture drivers in device manager and i have no more yellow alert signs in there. But when i try to watch tv on tuner application it says that a Capture filter is missing(error: can not locate capture filter) i guess i need this capture filter driver for 64bit windows 7 and than force install it in device manager. I did already tried many drivers from lots of driver web sites, i tried Hauppauge drivers and the drivers i used on 32 bit windows 7. Nothing works. Can you guys help me with this problem?

    Hello pstoma.,
I can understand you are desperate but I really think you are out of luck with Win 7 x64 bit and can only suggest that you try either going back to Win 7 32 bit or getting a newer card

I too suspect not compatible with 64-bit 7, no capture software (.dll(s) - dynamic link library) available is what that error message translates to... if it had spelled out a specific file, then that would be a happier ending, likely.

I look at it this way though, you will probably upgrade to something a lot nicer. [Silver lining]

    Check 'em out here:
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Video Cards & Video Devices, TV Tuners & Video Devices, TV Tuner Card

But if broke, drop back to 32-bit 7...

Either way I am jealous, I can't afford to split the signal in my computer room again, haha

Have you gone the the manufacturer of your card? If they don't have 64-bit drivers then you are out of luck, unless you find some hacked ones on the net.

It may be easier, and less stressful, to get a new card.

    Sorry
