toshiba laptop, radeon x1200 64 bit driver help

I upgraded my os from windows vista 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit home premium a few days ago, and am having a horrendous time fixing the resolution problem. I can not seem to locate a driver from ati or toshiba themselves to support this upgrade, anything i do find does not install stating that the os is not supported. My resolution was much higher (do not recall the exact numbers) but now maxs at 1152x864.

i am at a complete as to what to do, any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    here are my comp specs:

It is not possible to "upgrade" a 32 BIT system to a 64 BIT system. Do you mean you installed a new system?

If the manufacturers do not provide drivers for a certain system, then it often wont work as desired. You are obliged to use the default drivers.

You might find something about using other drivers on various Toshiba user groups. Sometimes people experiment until they find something that works.

Otherwise, there is not much you can do.

Sorry, but AMD stopped supplying new drivers for your card years ago.

If you go back to the AMD site and look for "legacy" drivers, you may be able to find them there. Make sure that when you download a driver file from them, it has "legacy" in the filename. Also, you will probably have to use Compatibility Mode to install them, as they are not Win7 drivers.

And with it being a Toshiba laptop, they will not install. This is the driver mentioned,

    ATI Catalyst

and will take using something like this,

Mobility Modder - ATI Version, Install the Latest Drivers on your ATI laptop

to have any chance of getting it to install. If that doesn't work the next best option is the last (and probably only) Vista driver for it that Toshiba released,

    Model Content Page

Despite it not saying it, it does support 64 bit. It should install OK, but if it doesn't then it should if you use compatibility mode,
