    no info in IPCONFIG

    Hi me again,

Ok, i have a post already however im putting up a new one as this might be able to get solved which might fix my other issue.

ive gone into cmd prompt and typed ipconfig and instead of seeing loads of information all i see is this:

    Windows IP Configuration

Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 12:

    Media State . . . . . . . . : Media Disconnected
    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

    C:\Users\Me>

Now im not techy but i know that isnt right.

Ive tried the old release but i get error, ive tried netsh winsock reset catalog etc but that hasnt worked either

When i look in network manager and device manager everything looks fine, i just cant connect even doing all the normal repair tools.

Oh, im using win7 64 bit if that makes any difference

    HELP PLEASE

Well it is saying that it isn't connected to anything. Is there a cable plugged into the NIC? Is the other end of the cable plugged into something? Is that something powered on?

Based off the info you provided here, I'd say your ipconfig is not returning data because your nic is malfunctioning. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the nic via device manager? The thing that is getting me here also is you mention that you cannot get online with wireless either? Does the wireless connect to the AP but not get an IP address? What is the behavior there?

Just a stab here but perhaps windows update pushed you a new driver and it didn't install properly for some reason.

everything is connected and i have double checked. I have a few network cables so ive swopped them around. i have my pc connected to my router via the motherboard nic port. i have 2 so ive even swopped that. i have one of the cables plugged into my laptop as we speak and its fine (otherwise i would be able to post these frustrating questions).
