Don't use the base driver. It works but is is very very very slow.
For printing 10 pages it takes about 3 minutes. So forget about it.
I just found a better way to use the printers in windows 7 64 bit.
Install the 1015 driver that cames with the windows 7.
I have just installed and it works great. Jut like the 1010 driver on 32 bit sistem. I am so happy I got rid of that huge delay.
Let me know how it works on you sistems.

By the way .. you have to update the windows drivers database in order to have the 1015 driver available.
    Good luck to you.

    So, where is the driver?

ok... so zatland, what you do is this. (for a windows 7 (64 bit), but may work for 32 too, not sure)
go to 'devices and printers' in your comp
    go to 'add a printer'
go to 'add a local printer'
go to 'Use an existing port' - LPT1 (printer port) - then next
then click the 'update windows' button. The driver isn't there otherwise. It's be a few minutes probably then:
Look for HP, and HP laserjet 1015.
It'll install after that. It looks like it may work.
I've set it up but won't find out if it works until tomorrow at work. But apparently the people above say it works well.

Cheers all for the awesome thread.

    Ecomode

I installed the win 7 hp 1015 inside driver for my hp 1015 device and it always prints in ecomode. I can not find the ecomode button in its setup that it was in the XP driver. Please help me how can I turn off the ecomode?

    Thanks in advance,
    Bird
