    i'm back, it's now saying:

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs:

    • These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.

      • Network adapters: Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter
      • Network adapters: Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter #2

i've checked in the device manager and there not there?

I seem to recall getting similar messages from the Vista Upgrade Advisor when I had XP and was contemplating upgrading to Vista. In the end, I decided that the easiest thing to do was to ignore this and clean install Vista as opposed to upgrading XP to Vista. Apart from having to provide storage drivers, I had no problems. I haven't even bothered going down that path this time, and have been able to install W7 without any problems, and I didn't even need to provide any drivers whatsoever during installation.

My recommendation, therefore, is that you consider a clean install as opposed to an upgrade one.

I am confident that your install will go well. After install, let your first action be: check device manager for splats. Best wishes and good luck.
