Quickcam Pro 9000 Windows 7 fix

If you can't get the software or drivers to install right, here's how.

1.Don't use the disc it came with. Go here to get it http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/435/3056&cl=us,en

    2. Choose Windows Vista as the OS then 64 or 32 bit depending if you're running 64 or 32 bit Windows 7.

    3. When it finishes downloading right click on it and choose open containing folder. Right click on the software you downloaded and go to properties.

    4. Go to the compatibility tab and choose Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and mark the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"

    5. Click apply, then ok, then run the software and it should work perfectly.

    Hope this helped.

I have a Quickcam Pro 9000 and have installed Win 7 Ultimate x32.It worked on my last machine and still does perfectly. But not on my Win7.I have installed as per u r instruction to download and install using Vista service pack 2 .The software 2.27 installed ok.The software runs ok with MIC working perfectly(tried using Skype) but NO picture (video at all).

I would really appreciate a workaround please,i have been messing with loads of difference versions of software drivers ect ect.

    Please help.

    Thanks

Thank you. I also have the same cam, and I'm quite happy that I'm an owner of it.

The Quickcam Pro under vista SP 2 as suggested above is working ok but after a while on Skype it sends slightly out of focus video.I have tried various setting with Aut0 Focus ON and OFF .Again Sometimes it freezes, but generally its ok.Do i have to mess around with Resolutions or anything else.
The resolution picked automatically by the cam is "Optimised *720".

    Any advise will be appreciated.

Pls remember i am running Win7 Ultimate but downloaded Vista SP2 software and Vista SP2 Compatibility mode.

    Thanks

    Shanti

Very interesting, I did a clean install of Ultimate 64 bit on my ssd and had the camera plugged in and it found drivers and installed itself and now updates drivers from Windows Update as they become available.
    The joys of modern computing.
