"Display Driver Has Stopped Responding And Has Recovered."
Hello,
I've been having a persistent issue whenever I would play The Sims 3: After a variation between 5-30 minutes of game play, the game would freeze, black-out and then resume its normal procedures, flash black again then normal, and it will continue that pattern until a blue screen shows up saying that my computer has been shut down to prevent damage, with this error message before the blue screen: "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator for Windows 7(R) has stopped responding and has recovered" (Though the recovered part seems like a complete lie.). I have tried the following to try to fix this issue:
- Clear my temporary files
- Ran disc clean-up
- Uninstalled and reinstalled my display driver (about 3 times already, and it doesn't seem corrupt, AND while using safe mode)
- Cleared any unnecessary processes that were running in the background
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the game itself, AND bought a new disc of the same exact game
- And I looked for the latest driver updates
I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with an Acer laptop, and the game was working fine until the few recent game updates. My computer isn't generally slow, in fact, it is running faster than ever (at 2.4 GHz), and I still experience this problem even after I have done all of those things listed above. Is it still my laptop's fault or the game itself?
Whoever can help me with this will be much appreciated! Thanks.
