    WG121 Netgear

I am looking to make my WG121 Netgear work for windows 7 and this thread didn't help:

    WG121 Netgear 64bit driver Needed

Here is an extract from that thread:

    "
    Downloaded the wg121v200.zip file.
Created a System restore point (just to be safe)
Unzipped and ran the setup program.
Ignored all the warnings and finished the install.
    "

    I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

I tried downloading that driver and installing it and then restarting my computer. Windows 7 still didn't recognise the device. It is still plugged in

    "
After the install was done, I plugged in the adapter and it took a little while but it recognized it eventually.
    "

It has been plugged in to my computer this whole time. I can see it in the device page but it says it is an unknown device and I can't do anything with it.

    Please help.

Noone is replying to this thread, probably because it's so old... meanwhile I am still in need of assistance and seeing that it has worked for others makes me all the more determined.

Have you tried anything as simple as moving the device to a different usb port?

I've tried that. Windows 7 still recognises that there is a device but does not know what to do with it, even with the recommended driver installed from the previous thread.

Given the age of the original thread it's possible something has changed. Win 7 was still practically beta when that thread was originally made.
At this point I can only suggest contacting netgear or purchasing a newer model.
