    Storage controller problem


    I'm having a problem with my win7 laptop, i cant connect to internet and when i look in the device manager it shows that my storage controller is not working correctly. In the device status it says that it cannot start. Before this problem occurred my laptop battery died in the middle of creating a partion using gpartion on an ubuntu 10.4 live USB.

    Any idea on how to fix this?

    Best use Disk management in for partition.
    Partition or Volume - Delete
    Partition or Volume - Create New

    Try uninstalling the drivers for storage controller & network card, than reboot & let Windows reinstall the drivers.

    The wifi works now but the device manager still shows that the storage controller is still not working

    Try clicking on Update driver.

    it says that windows cant find the drive software, i tried unistalling it again but it just poped right back up

    It would help if you provide the hardware Ids as you see in the example below.

    You may want to go to laptop's driver support page and look for the chipset drivers,
    or you can try this utility Intel® Driver Update Utility

    i tried it and it shows nothing that needs to be updated
