    Can I safely flash this bios?

    Welcome to Compal Driver Download Site!

    click "download site"---> "Bios"---->"JHL90"---->"JHXXX119.zip"

    I'm not sure how to proceed with this as it is my first time. I am a bit worried though because I have heard it can be a problem.

    Hey RoloDman,

    OK. I'll help you on this but first there're a couple of things you need to be sure yourself. First, be 100 % sure, this is the right update for your motherboard, and you have not accidentally selected the wrong one. Check and double check.

    Second, see if you can find a description somewhere about the changelog for this bios- so you know whether you get any benefits from the the flash. Of course, some peoplw will update bios no matter what but it makes more sense if you get some benefit.

    Then come back and I'll guide you on how to go about it.

    I agree 100% with what Bill2 told you, but would like to add one more thing. Make sure your computer is 100% stable before updating.

    Spoke to the company that sold the notebook and they said that Compal did not release any info regarding the bios update and as a result they can't give me any info either. They told me not to install it if my system is presently stable. I have email Compal multiple times an no response.

    I have decided not to flash the bios.
