    Canoscan 8400F

Can anyone please tell me where to find a driver for this scanner.
The driver on the Canon website is corrupted.

    Thanks.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forum. Can you provide us with what bit of 7 your using? 32 or 64. Thanks. Also have you tried the driver from the Canon UK site. This is the 64 bit file 8400fvst6410231a_64en.exe. I scanned it with Avast before zipping it, but as far as corrupted you would have to give it a try. If your using 32 bit I can provide that file, just let me know Thanks. Fabe 8400fvst6410231a_64en.zip

This is an old thread (18 months ago) but maybe it will be worth passing on my experience today.

I have the same scanner and just upgraded to W7 x64 only to find no official driver available.

After a couple of abortive attemps I got the UK 64-bit driver (see link in the quote from thefabe above) to work OK under compatibility mode. It didn't seem to like "Vista" compat so I also ran it under "Vista SP1" and then "Vista SP2". Nothing happened at first but on a reboot there it is, and working fine!

One possible hitch: there are two different formats for the Windows Twain folder and this driver should go in the one spelt "twain_32" in a sub-folder named "CNQ8400", the other one is spelt "Twain32". I don't know the significance of the two spellings - maybe one is Win 7 the other Vista? Either way, check that yours gets into the "twain_32" version.

I hope this might be of use to someone out there.
