This is why I reinstall the OS with a clean image not the recovery CD's when I get a new laptop. To much software I will never use. I try the laptop for a few hours and see what programs I like then reinstall the OS and the software that was included that I liked. Toltal time is around 4 hours at most.
Didn't come with any DVD's or CD's, so no option for clean OS install. Only option was to uninstall apps not wanted.

The OP didnt end-up with a windows logo loop, (startup repair will usually sort that out)

    Dear Sub Styler,

In my case start-up repair too was of no use. That is why this was the only viable option left.
And what is I or O?

BIOS equals Basic Input Output System,

Therefore the BIOS was no longer taking input or givin output. When the BIOS has failed there is no windows start logo, the system is not even aware of the hard disk or any other hardware being installed.

Thank you for trying to help others by sharing your solution though, just not quite on the right thread.

    Hi Raquib,

There are some descrepancies, your specs say you have an Acer Laptop, but your post is referring to a HP. Please can you provide the model number of the laptop with the fault. Laptops do often come with dual BIOS these days so you may be able to do a recovery.

Before attempting to use a button combination to attempt a boot from BIOS2, Disconnect the power cord AND remove the battery for for a few mins.
