    Fn keys not working

    Hi, I'm here again :)

I've noticed that my Fn keys are not working on my Hp laptop.. I searched on hp page for any signs of drivers that could solve it and I found this..

    Code:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-91100-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5072254&sw_lang=
I downloaded it and tried to install but the installation wasn't successful so it's still not working. Does anyone have some experience with it or know how to proceed?
    Thank you :)

Until we diagnose the problem, try the following:

Do you know when the problem started? If you do, try to do a System Restore to before it began.
    System Restore

Also try an SFC/SCANNOW command. If related system files are corrupt or have been deleted, it should be able to fix or replace them.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

A Repair Install will do much the same thing. This is normally for users who can't find a solution to their problem but don't want to do a clean install.
    Repair Install

I also read that the Fn keys not working can be a malware problem. If it is, download and install both:
    Malwarebytes
Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
    and
    avast!
avast! - Download Free Antivirus software or Internet Security
Avast Free Antivirus - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
and do a full system scan on both.

Well, the thing is that I've bought this laptop recently and the keys haven't worked since then. And it appears that they were not even installed. Therefore I downloaded the driver from HP page and it says the installation was successful but I still don't have them. I should have this icon but I don't.
On HP page advised that if some problems occurs with these Quick Launch Buttons, the BIOS should be updated, so I also downloaded BIOS update driver. The result is the same , not working.

Anyways, I tried SFC/SCANNOW and Malwarebytes but it found nothing.
I performed a full scan with my own antivirus. It found a few threats so I deleted them, though I don't think they caused this problem.

I'm not sure I'll be able to do A Repair Install because I don't have the Windows 7 install disc and it seems it's necessery to have it.

Most laptops have the Hard drive partitioned and all you have to do is on post press F12 or 11.

Also have you looked into the services as these may have been turned off.

    Just a thought.......
