Windows 7 Beta on an HP Pavilion dv5t

    Hey everyone,
I just installed Windows 7 Beta on my HP Pavilion dv5t and notice that my quick launch buttons don't work at all.

The mute button does work, but does not turn orange when muted (like it did in Vista).

The volume and WiFi buttons work correctly in Windows 7.

I have tried installing some of the HP drivers, but no help.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Solved your problem

    Hi David!

    Here is the thing:

You should go to www.hp.com and search for HP Quick Launch Buttons drivers for your laptop model (mine is hp pavilion dv9000) so I download the sp38171.exe to some place in my computer...
...once the download is finished you should open this file and install HP Quick Launch Buttons.

Well, that is how simple I thought it was, but here is the real deal:
Once you have downloaded and opened the file, you will notice an error about some file named hpq(something).dll just after the Install Wizard opens.

When that happen, don`t click the OK button. Before you do it, search for the files this self-extractor extracted in your disk, mine was in C:\SwSetup\SP38171.

Inside that folder there is a Disk 1 subfolder. Copy all the content of this subfolder and create a Folder for yourself as a resource for things go wrong again.

Now you can close that wizard.

After doing that, open the setup.exe file wherever you created the folder. But open it using the right-click button and selecting Troubleshoot Compatibility.

When its done, reboot you computer and that is it! From now on everytime you need to install it it will be okay.

I just noticed with the default windows sound drivers the mute button does not turn orange when muted etc, but with the realtek sound drivers installed it functions correctly.

I have windows 7 installed on my hp pavillion 6000 and the vista drivers for the Yuan DVB-T TV Tuner HP Express Card have resulted in several blue screens when searching for channels in Media Center.

I've tried installing XP drivers with troubleshoot compatibility but that didn't seem to work.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
