Need Drivers Dual Boot Installation -W7 & XP

Helping a friend who wants to run XP on his new Lenovo Windows 7 64 bit machine.

In process of creating a slipstreamed XP Install disk, but need to get the SATA drivers for this machine, as obviously there in no floppy to use. The factory disk has 2.5 GB of drivers, which obviously is more than I need, plus they will not fit on the CD.

    Lenovo will not help.

How do I find the SATA drivers?

    TIA.

    Pete

Go here - select your country if necessary and the model name of your Lenova:

Lenovo Ideapad Support & downloads - Drivers & Downloads

If its an intel chipset and motherboard - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

Are you using nLite I managed to make a slipstream cd with the AHCI driver which is probably what you would need to do as most laptops do have AHCI enabled - also if your considering a dual boot you would need to install xp fiirst then W7 as XP overwrites the MBR and you can't boot to W7 unless you can bing for a solution. However, if you have separate hard drives you can install xp on a different drive.

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware on the manufacturer's web site.
Lenovo Support - Drivers & Downloads
If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.
SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
    OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

For better help with problems, Can you post your specs.
