Need drivers for HP LaserJet M2727 MFP

Hi, I'm new to the form...I haven't had a chance to read through other posts yet so forgive me if this has already been discussed.

I installed Windows 7 on an office laptop and I cannot print now because I don't have the correct drivers. i didn't see any on the HP website either, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

Any ideas on how to get this working?

Hello iknownothing, welcome to SevenForums. You can download Windows Vista drivers for your printer here. HP has no Windows 7 drivers yet, but sometimes Vista drivers work. Please be careful to choose the right version, 32 or 64 bit.

If it won't work, here's workaround until HP publishes Win7 drivers:

Laserjet M2727 is a PCL6/PCL5e printer, so it should work with drivers for Laserjet M3027 PCL6.

Go to Start Menu > Devices and printers > Add a printer, choose Laserjet M3027 PCL6 and let Windows install the drivers.

The first method did not work (got the same error as when I tried installing with the CD).

The second method did work. Thanks!

This is good to know - another way that I accomplished it was that i had the drivers installed on another PC - shared that printer and connected to it from the Win 7 pc.
Problem is, i can print, but what are the steps to use/install the hp scan software? this same issue occurs with win 2k8

I do not reccomend this. I have a Lexmark X4850. The drivers from Lexmark was wrapped up in a software suite that comes with the printer. I could not find any stand alone drivers at Lexmark. The software suite did not work with Win 7. Sooooo I loaded the software and then backed up my drivers with Driver Max. I then removed the software suite which removed scanner, printer and other drivers. Then I installed the printer with out a driver. Clicked on the printer and installed the driver backup. It got my scanner, printer and card readers. Which now work. At the end of installing the drivers I got the window to install the software? I just killed it. Seems as if it is all working (two days). Sounds like a rodeo right? Well this ain't my first rodeo.

I've got the same printer (Lazerjet M2727) and it works fine <for printing> in Windows7.
The problem is that It can't Scan documents!! There is no drivers for scanner at the moment! <or I can't found any driver that can make the scanner work>

Does anyone knows any trick to make the scanner of HP lazerjet m2727 works on windows 7 ??? Thanks!

Did you try the site Kari mentioned above? I was able to scan as well as print after I installed drivers from there.

I'm about to follow the same path: Upgrading from Win XP to Win 7 tomorrow and I have the 2727nf MFP. Since I mostly use it with laptops on a network, and seldom from my Windows desk top, my needs are limited. Have you been able to get it to print across a network with Win 7? I'm short of USB ports!
