Try these drivers for Vista x64 Select software and drivers
I have written a mail to HP about the problem of drivers. Here is the answer I have given:
"Flaubert,I would like to inform you that the Windows 7 is still under the testing conditions under Microsoft. Full version of the Windows 7 is still not officially released by the Microsoft; only Candidate version of the Windows 7 is released as of now. Therefore, HP All-In-One is not compatible with the Windows 7 installed on your computer, since it is only the Candidate version.
Once the Windows 7 is officially released then the drivers for the all-in-one will be released. Also, HP does not announce product releases before the official introduction date because HP does not want to set customers' expectations and then not be able to deliver a product.
Unfortunately, we at Technical support do not have an estimated date from the software team. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. But I can assure you that it should be available anytime in the near future.
The information I have provided should answer your question. If you have further questions, please reply to this message. We will be happy to assist you further."
A workaround until HP publishes Win7 drivers:
Photosmart C3180 should work with drivers for PS C2500; I believe it works also with Photosmart 3300 drivers from Microsoft.
Go to Start Menu > Devices and printers > Add a printer, choose HP PSC 2500 series and let Windows install the drivers.

I have HP Photosmart C4140. I installed the drivers that came on the CD. Then I plugged the printer into my machine (computer has to be on)... then I plugged in the USB cable, turned the printer on and it was recognized.
Thanks for your reply guys!
Kari...I followed your proceeding exactly: But Windows 7 RTM me always this message when I switch on the printer: "USB unknow device.. Windows 7 is not able to recognize the USB device connected".A workaround until HP publishes Win7 drivers:

OK. Let's try someting else.
- uninstall all drivers and software for your printer
- disconnect printer USB cable from computer
- reboot
- download latest Vista x64 drivers and software for your printer here
- right click the downloaded file
- choose "Properties" from context menu
- choose "Compatibility"
- choose "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
- choose "Windows Vista", click OK
- start installing by double clicking the downloaded file
- ONLY CONNECT USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED! Be sure printer is on when you connect the cable
- follow all the instructions on your screen
Try this, tell us what happens.
Good luck, Kari
I had to try a different usb point.
and used this driver

Nothing at all. Does n't work. When I connect the printer to the USB port (I have tried all the USB ports of my Acer) Windows 7 returns the usually error message: Unknown device! And the drivers installation does not go forward: stops at Screen you see in screen Annex. That bad luck!!!
