    AMD Phenom II X 4 955 drivers

I did it this time. I reformatted my HD and then couldn't get online. I called my internet company and after some checking they think that my network drivers are gone. I've emailed my pc company for the drivers. I can't understand which driver to get! I made sure that my OS read Windows 7, but when I try to install the driver it tells me that it "does not support OS WNT_6.1P_64_MCE" and says that it doesn't support Vista. I then tried to call the company and had to leave them a message.

Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I don't understand. The last time I reformatted, this didn't happen and in fact when I first booted up after the reformat, I was online for a short time and then it went out. When I open up network connections, there is nothing there to pick from.

    Help, Please.

ZT doesn't give enough info about that model,

    Product Detail Info

other than it has an AMD chipset on it, likely the AMD 780V. Doesn't help much as that isn't what is needed, as you need to find out which networking controller is on the motherboard. It could be anything from Realtek to Atheros, or some other.

ZT also doesn't make it easy to get whatever they have for downloads without making an account with them,

No idea what they will have but at least will then know which it is you need, and if what they have doesn't work or is too old, newer drivers should be able to be found.

If I post the link in here that I got from the email, would you be able to help me? I can give you more pc info if you need it.

Also, I have signed in (tho I don't think I need to with that link they sent me) everything that I download says it doesn't support Vista. I didn't pick Vista drivers, I picked Windows 7 drivers.

    Grab this,

Speccy - System Information - Free Download

Hopefully it will be able to show which networking controller is on the motherboard.

    The motherboard,

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS M3A78-CM

and it has the Realtek network controller on it, whicb if I am reading it right you can get the Windows 7 driver directly from Realtek for it,

    Realtek

seeing as Asus only has a Vista driver.

Yep, that is the link that they sent me. I scrolled down and changed the OS to 7. Then I clicked the CPU Support List. I found this and downloaded it - Phenom IIX4 955 (HDZ955FBK4DGI),3.2GHz,125W,rev.C2,SocketAM3,Quad-Core

But it won't install. Do you think that is the correct one?

I've also been to the 2nd link you gave me. I had no idea what to pick though.

I'm unclear what you want me to get Stormy.

I don't know if this will help or not, but I use the same board and processor as yours.

The processor driver listed in Device Manager is Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385 Dated 21 June 2006. Running Win7 64bit.

It seems to be a very old driver but the machine is rock solid and has never even coughed in all the years I have had it. No crashes, no BSOD

    This one,

    AMD Phenom II X 4 955 drivers-realteklan.png

And stop looking for a CPU driver, the one Windows installs is all there is.

P.S. Everyone's CPU driver shows the same date, whether AMD or Intel.
