    Toshiba Memory Card Drive

I have a Toshiba P10-S429 and can not get the SD Card slot to work properly. After installing 7 OS says the device cannot start. After installing the older XP drivers 7 states it cannot find enough resources to start the device. Worked in Vista just fine with out installing anything. Even if I disable a bunch of devices it still won't start, (Code 12).

    Hello zone23,

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

When it installed automatically in Vista, was it Vista x64? My laser printer installs automatically in 7 x86, but not in 7 x64.

Thanks glad to clime aboard. I belonged to a few other boards one of which is loaded with Vista hatters so I'm glad to get out of there. I hope to be able to bring my many years of computer experience to this board and hope to help others as much as possible.

My issue is on a x86 machine specs out like this:

    Pentium 4 2.66 (x86)
    2gb DDR 333 RAM
    160gb PATA Hard Drive
    Intel 865 (ICH5) Chipset (I think)
    Nvidia Gefore Go5200 32mb

    Device in question:
    Toshiba SD Card Controller Type-A - DEV_0805&SUBSYS_FF001179&REV_05

Toshiba SD Memory Card Drive - TSDHD\SD_MEMORY_CARD

The memory card cannot find enough free resources that it can use. I have disable things like serial port and parallel port but doesn't help.

Hi zone23, I've got the exact problem you are experiencing, any chance you got it working?

My machine is a Toshiba P10-804

    Thanks

I have a P25 but I believe it has the same chipset for the Toshiba SD Controller that is in the P10.

The SD slot worked fine under Vista so to get it working under Win7 I re-installed Vista, found the drivers that were being used and copied them off. I then went back to Win7 and updated the drivers with the ones from Vista and Voila! The drive works again. I posted the drivers at http://www.meganscreations.com/Win7ToshibaSDDrivers.zip if you want to download them.

Would it not have been easier just to install the Vista drivers, as the majority of them work with Windows 7.

Probably would have except the laptop is only supported under windows xp.Toshiba never released Vista drivers. I'm not an idiot.

    Henderpa, your link doesn't work

I just updated my Toshiba P25-S676 Pentium 4 3.4 GHz laptop to Windows 7. Pretty much everything updated to new drivers except for the Toshiba SD Card Controller Type-A and the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 graphics card. Can you repost the link to the download?
