    Guide OCZ Windows Toolbox for Vertex2/3, Agility2/3, Solid3, and Revo3/Revo3 x2 drives.

This page make a reference to ver 2.39.02 if you dl it it is actually ver 2.40.07. But it still has this warning. Is It out of date also?

EDIT: The OCZ Toolbox does not work with the Intel RST 10.1 series drivers.

    OCZ Toolbox version 2.40.07
    ---------------------------
    - Added BIOS update for Revo3/Z-Drive R4 drives
    - Display BIOS version for Revo3/Z-Drive R4/Hybrid Drive
    Known Issues:
    - Update Firmware feature prohibited for primary drives with 1500 & 2000 controllers
    - Intel RST Driver 10.1.0.1008 prohibits SSD detection
Well I (and Airbot) have actually used it under Windows 7 with Intel's IRST 10 drivers - OCZ Sandforce Drive Firmware Update 1.32/1.33 released

And the image I posted is of OCZ's Toolbox actually working with Intel's 10 series drivers. Take a closer look at the image and notice the version number for IRST

Now I will say I haven't tried the newest OCZ toolbox, but I will give them a try and post the results here.

    OCZ

Their renowned support seems to be renowned for something other than what they are claiming.

So what's new in this driver release? Or is it a update for the recent LGA 2011 procs coming out?

Here is something to take into consideration. This is a excerpt from the firmware flashing guide at OCZ.

    OCZ Technology

"Any OCZ SSD drives installed in the system will not be recognized by the Toolbox if you are using an Intel chipset based motherboard running the Intel RST 10.1.X.XXXX AHCI drivers. We recommend using Microsoft ACHI drivers for Toolbox to be properly recognized"
That's history. Toolbox works with IRST 10.1.xxxx now. I know because I updated the firmware on my MAX IOPS from 2.13 to 2.15 using IRST 10.1.xxxx drivers.

    Well, its working for me....

    Intel RST 10.8.0.1003 out-latest-ocz-toolbox-irst-drivers.jpg

And to clarify, not working under IRST 10 meant the program would even open up and read the drive. In that case you have to revert back to the 9 series driver or find some other means to use toolbox. This is no longer the case with the newer versions of toolbox now.

And yeah, they really do need to remove that note

    OK

They are full crap. The toolbox that we have been refering to boots up for me but doesn't find any disks. Bios set to ACHI and MS drivers. I think that is because the drives are Vertex Solid 2 (which I don't think the toolbox is for that model) That would explain that.
Now I tried the iso file that I understood was for the Solid 2. I set the Bios to IDE and once again MS drivers. It didn't find any drives. I am not sure what my problem is but OCZ needs to get their poop together.

Sorry but I'm not understanding where you're going here? Are you saying you can't get toobox to work with your drive? And what's a Vertex Solid 2 ???

Anyway if you look carefully at my screenshot you'll see my drive is a Vertex 2. And for the record my BIOS is set to AHCI, and as you can see, OCZ Toolbox is reading the drive.

Anyway I'm not quite clear on what you're saying, or trying to get at. Sorry.

    Topic

Maybe I changed the topic. We were discussing the OCZ Tool Box. You convinced me that it works with intel drivers and in the AHCI mode. Regardless of the info posted on the OCZ website and the changelog for the latest ver of the toolbox. That is kind of shoddy of OCZ. Caused me to uninstall Intel drivers.

Then I mentioned that I could not get the tool box to work for me. It cannot find my drives. ( two different rigs but almost the same hardware and software ) I described how I had the bios set. Each time I set the bios ( per their info ) I made sure the bios seen the drives. But the tool box could not find them. Then I speculated that they were not the correct model of drive for the tool box. You will notice they have different software for different drives listed ( no longer trust them ) Any how here is the drives I was trying to look at.

    OCZ Solid 2 drives...

Ok, looking at your system specs, is this your drive? - Newegg.com - OCZ Solid 2 Series OCZSSD2-2SLD120G 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

If so, you can not use toolbox linked here - Guide OCZ Windows Toolbox for Vertex2/3, Agility2/3, Solid3, and Revo3/Revo3 x2 drives..

    OCZ Windows Toolbox for Vertex2/3, Agility2/3, Solid3, and Revo3/Revo3 x2 drives.
Note that it does not list the Solid 2 series drives for use with Toolbox.

That drive based on the Indilinx SSD controller which is not read by Toolbox. You'll need to go here for firmware updates - Firmware 1.7 updates for Vertex/Agility/Solid2/Vertex Turbo/Vertex EX

This is the OCZ forum to go to for the Solid 2 drives - Vertex, Vertex Plus, Agility, Turbo, Solid v2, and Colossus SSD Support

BTW my Vertex 2 drive uses the SandForce controller.

    Let me know.

    Been There Done That

I had decided (previous post) that the tool box couldn't handle that drive. So I dl'd the file you mentioned. It is an Iso, got it all set up it boots but cant't find drives.

This is the file you mentioned and the one I have been trying to use.

Dude all I did was link to a file that's supposed to be a firmware update for your drive. All I know is that toolbox can not be used with the drive you have. Outside of that I have no other suggestions to your issue other then to post them to OCZ's forum.

At any rate I think we've hijacked this thread long enough as it's supposed to be about the new Intel RST drivers.

If you're having an issue start a new thread here or at OCZ's forum.

    Good luck.
