Marvell 91xx SATA 6G, RAID console question

Whenever I do a Windows Update I see Marvell's RAID Console showing up in my recommend updates. Where can I find Marvell's RAID Console to download on Marvell's website?

I tried searching around Marvell's website for SATA 6G drivers to no avail.

Another question, I found this french site with Marvell 91xx SATA 6G drivers (1.2.0.1014) that are newer than the ones available on ASUS (1.2.0.1002) website. Is it safe to download?

Marvell does not provide drivers direct. They are only available to the manufacturer such as Asus which provides them to consumers.

I would not trust the French site. It may not even be the right driver or could have malware added.

The download MS is offering is an update to your current Asus software.
I see no reason not to install it if you are using the Marvell Sata 6Gbs controller for one of your hard drives.

    French

I have dl'd from that "French" site without problems. If you have a problem do an image so you can always get back to ground zero.

Although I've never used them, Station-Drivers seems to be a respected source of drivers among the OC'er. The problem is that the drivers are not documented and, as you will discover, not supported. It's best to get drivers released by your motherboard or PC manufacturer. These drivers are usually specific to hardware or PC models and have been tested by the manufacturer.

Yes, I have installed the driver directly from Asus's website.

All my SATA connections, 6 currently, are on Intel's chipset. Device Manager shows the Marvell driver is properly installed.

The RAID console I see on MS updates dates back to November 2006. I'm having second thoughts if I need that console installed if my Marvell 6G ports are working and not using it for RAID.

I use station drivers all the time, they are very reputable...

Motherboard manufacturer's websites are typically very slow to update drivers on their websites...

I would personally ignore the update from MS, which I have the same controller and I prefer not to use that driver from MS and all is well...

Yes, I tend not do download anything driver related, other than pre-XP printer drivers, from MS update.

Station-drivers site is a safe site. Use it all the time. They just get the drivers straight from some of the manufacturer sites, like Gigabyte, etc.
