    HP DV2000 Touchpad problem

I have upgraded a HP dv2000 (HPdv2171cl) to Win 7 and now I have a touchpad problem. I have installed the HP Vista driver and the Synaptic driver trying to get the touchpad to work, as well as scoured this and other sites for advice. The touchpad is jerky and the scrollbar on the side is not functioning.
The only thing I can find that is out of place is that under device manager, there is listed "other device" Unknown device. ?
    any ideas.
    Thanks

Try these drivers - I use Vista x64 on my laptop - and it works brilliantly.

I used the Vista 32 already and nothing.... should I try the Vista 64?

The easy way of finding out what you need is to right click on the unknowin device, click on properties, click on details, on the drop down menu click on hardware ID, pick the first one, copy and paste it into google and it will tell u what it is for.
