I have uninstalled all Nvidia drivers for my GeForce 9600M GT and device manager informs me I am using a general driver. I am experiencing some graphics issues and I used to keep very up-to-date with Nvidia releases. How long will it take untill Windows offers me a recommended Nvidia driver? Can I just go get it myself? Do you know the version umbers?

thank you very much for that but I didn't make my post clear enough. I have always sed the most recent drivers from Nvidia but I don't always think thats best for many users who don't play the newest games. I think it can even have a negative effect.
I did hear that Microsoft takes Nvidia drivers and vets them and then provides them through Windows Update and they are usually a few months behind Nvidias releases but we know they work well. I was asking for that version
