My motherboard resolution (when I turn on my computer and it shows F1 for Boot Setup etc) looks like it has a resolution of 800x600 on my 1920x1080 monitor.

I don't know much about updating motherboards and stuff, does this do anything for that? I'd really love for it to fit my monitor.
Are you talking about the white text on a black background that flashes by for a few seconds during the beginning of the boot process?
Or are you talking about what your screen looks like after the booting is done and you are looking at your normal desktop and icons?
The latter should be easily adjusted within certain ranges.
You know when you turn on your computer and it has the little intro that says
"F1 Setup, F2 Boot Setup" and all that stuff? That up to when it says "Starting Windows" is in a resolution that is definitely NOT 1920x1080. From the time I start it up to the time it shows this : http://www.windows7hacker.com/wp-con...boot_thumb.jpg

I'm not aware of any way to control that. That is before you get to Windows.
I looked in my own BIOS and saw no possibly relevant setting.
Someone else may have another idea.
Why is it particularly important?
The start up image is generated by the BIOS. There's no display driver loaded at that time (boot) so the screen resolution is fixed by the BIOS to default to what you are seeing. It's not until Windows starts that you will see your configured resolution. No amount of driver updates will change the boot process.
