Hi and welcome to seven forums

You can start by going to IBM here Lenovo Support & downloads - Drivers and software - ThinkPad T60, T60p. We could also help you more if you were to fill in your system specs (in the lower left corner of your post) so we would know your hardware

IBM T60 Drivers

Hi there,
By chance for you I've got the same type of laptop.
I must say that most Vista drivers works perfectly on Win7.
It also applis with x86 or x64 drivers.
I have try ti it and now my laptop works fine with Win7.
If there are some drivers that does not install go to :
Lenovo Support & downloads - Windows 7 BETA
You should be able to download most of what you missed.

you might also get some trouble with the Biometric reader (if you got one). Just don't worry about it finish all setup and do a live windows update. This will automatically fix the missing driver.

Have fun...

Well what i did not mentioned earlier is that I have actually two Thinkpad on which I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate.

1st - ThinkPad T43, 14" 1024X768 with ATI Radeon X300, Hdd 160Gb, DVD Writer, FingerPrint reader, Bluetooth, Wireless, Modem but no WWAN unfortunately.

2nd - Thinkpad T60, 14" 1024X768 with ATI Radeon X1400, Hdd 250Gb, DVD Writer, Fingerprint, Bluetooth, Wireless, Modem and WWAN

I must say that they both support Win7 very well and had no problem at all.

and to answer the question "Does your T60 support the aero peek interface?" Answer is yes - they both support the Aero peek interface

Are u an IBMer?

I'm using the T60 now and have not come across any issues. What particular driver(s) do you need?

Answer for AEM

Helloooo,

IBMer not really...
Just love to use IBM as it is more discreet with no fancy gimmics, like chorme buttons and frames, All Black (this is my point of view).

I think you have not really read about what i have said on this thread.
For example I you want water you go to the tap or a bottle of water...what do you say...it is mostly logical....
I you want drivers for IBM you go to IBM web site...go to

Lenovo Support & downloads - Home page

where you find "Enter a product number" entre your model type of your T60. For example 2668-A66. You will find it under you laptop, it is written TYPE 2668-XXX.
Actually there are no driver for windows 7 for the IBM T60.
Dowload and install all "WINDOWS VISTA 32bit DRIVERS" it works fine. I have done it with mine and it is ok. And most of all look for the "System Interface Driver" this is the most important driver.

Hope to have help you here
Any more question ... please do not hesitate

WiN SEVEN /x86/ ENTERPRiSE

I am having nothing but problems installing Win7 Enterprise or Ultimate on my IBM T60P. Out of 7 install attempts I was able to get Enterprise to install on it, but then once I rebooted it got stuck on the black "Windows Is Starting" screen.

I have flashed the bios, flashed the optical drive, flashed the HDD, with latest firmware from IBM.

I have burned the DVD ISO I downloaded from TechNet at slowest speed using CDBurnerXP and verified the data written.

I have put SATA drive in AHCI and Compatibility mode - Neither worked.

I have disabled USB BIOS and also disabled any unneeded devices in the BIOS.

I have burned the ISO to 2 different brands of DVD media to ensure media brand wasn't the issue.

I have created a bootable USB stick w/ Win7 loaded on it. IBM T60P doesn't like it and won't boot from it (just get the black screen with cursor flashing). USB stick is a SanDisk Cruzer 4GB.

I have reset the BIOS back to default.

I have cussed at it and walked around the house multiple times shaking my head saying "What the fuggg could it be..."

Nothing seems to work... LOL! I am a 12 year IT professional and have been hacking/cracking at computers since I was 13 when we used to run dialul modems and get shell accounts when nobody even knew what the internet was. I am no n00b to the whole scene and if Windows7 is giving me this amount of pushback during the install phase I can't imagine what others out in the real world might go through.

Ugh...

Bigboy, i have a T60 and W7 runs flawlessly on it. I don't know how to help you as i'm not sure if it's a drivers issue or just your build. What build (7600?) do you have?

The rule to OS install is you do not make any BIOS setting changes (set it to default). This way if you run into issues, you can easily id it. I would try and flush the BIOS again and then format your HDD ready for a clean install.
