Thanks for the help, but I'm starting to think it may just not work on 7600....
Considering it is the final release, perhaps it only works on previous builds, like with Fliplips?
    Right.
Ive just installed it on my main PC, running 7260. But it definitly works on my sons 7600 as this is the only PC we really use it on.
What i did was to copy all the files from the original disc (other than acrobat 6) and set the setup.exe to run in compatability mode. I set it to XP SP3. Then i just run it and followed the instructions.
I remeber now that this didnt work by running it directly from the disc.

    Hope this helps.

So we know you need a driver. I assume you dont have connectivity, right? What does the linksys look like in device manager? installed and working or unknown (yellow triangle). Have you tried un-installing what ever is there and letting win 7 try to find it for you?

Im in for the duration and im subscribed to this thread so I get email whenevr something is posted

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear you're stuck here... hopefully we can resolve this quickly. If not, I can just wait it out, use my laptop as a hub (ha ha), and cope in the mean time.

    Yes, I need a driver.

And yes, it's unknown (yellow triangle).

Well, there it is. I've uninstalled all the drivers, but even after installing them initially it would say this.

I'm really, really curious as to why Fliplip's is work and mine isn't.

    Good luck.
I did have the "this driver is already installed, please remove it first" error after trying to instal from the disc but after uninstalling it and then running the setup again from my desktop it seemed to go without any problems.

I'm simply looking for a driver that'll work on Windows 7 32bit (build 7600), my current OS.
I checked the Vista compatibility site and found the WUSB54GS is Vista 32 bit compatible:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...54GS&os=32-bit

From here there is a link to Linksys and a driver dated 2007:

Linksys by Cisco - WUSB54GS Support

    Worth a try?

I just installed windows 7 yesterday and ran into this same issue with the WUSB54GS.

    Here are my specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
    Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB

I was using vista home basic 32bit as my previous OS and the drivers installed perfectly. I went about installing drivers the same as before but looking for 64bit if possible. The device manager says it is the correct device but i cannot get the drivers from their site. It seems as if we'll have to wait for new drivers or the finalized version of 7?

Hello glhf, and welcome to Windows Seven Forums! Glad to have you on board!

I would kindly suggest you re-read the previous post as it says the Vista Compatibility site says this device is 32 bit compatible NOT 64 bit compatible. My suggestion would be for you to go to the Vista Compatibility site and search the "network" category for 64 bit devices that you will need to function with your 64 bit Windows.

Then, the next time you have a question, know that it is all right for you to post a new thread and that we will reply as soon as possible. That way, your issue with a 64 bit system doesn't get mixed up with, as in this thread, a 32 bit issue. That sometimes makes it difficult to sort out what answers are for what issue.

    Happy 64 bit surfing!

    Robert
