Epson Stylus NX420 Driver not found after installing

I have tried unsucessfully to install the printer driver for this Epson printer (NX420). Have spent many, many hours on phone with Epson support, emails etc. Changed security settings, turned off virus protection, used disk which was supplied, downloaded drivers from website, downloaded drivers to another computer and copied to DVD and tried to install from that DVD. Error message continues to say, "Driver not found". All efforts have failed. Printer works fine on Win XP computer, no problems. Epson says "there is a problem with your Win7 computer to not allow the download."

Forgot to add that this Win 7 Desktop is on a home network with a wireless laptop running Win XP. Both are Dell computers if that matters.

    Can anyone offer some help???
    Thanks in advance

Have you tried installing the driver that came along with the printer?
Try download from Epsons homepage once again and make sure you choose the right OS, especially with respect to if your pc is a 32 or 64 bit.
