ACPI problem JHL90 with W7 RTM

    Hello,

Yesterday I installed the Windows 7 Professional RTM from MSDNAA on my Compal JHL90, before I installed the RTM I used the RC since it came out. With the RC I had single problems, so I expected to have no problems with the RTM aswell. Unfortunately I do have a problem.

I have the laptop on the AC most of the time (with the battery plugged in the notebook), but suddenly (after about 3-4 hours) I saw the brightness going down so I looked at the powerplan...I saw that it was running on the battery (while the AC adapter was on). After 5 seconds it started to run on the AC again. Today I had the same problem again, so I decided to let the battery run out and hopefully that solves the problem...but it didn't

While the battery still had 59% remaining, it did go into hibernation mode because Windows 7 thought the battery had reached it critical level. After I restarted the notebook, it showed to me that it had still 58% remaininng...so no reason to think such a thing.

I looked futher and I saw a questionmark in the device manager, it says "Unknown Device". I clicked it and saw it had to do with the ACPI-Compliant driver from Microsoft. If I click on details it says this to me: "ACPI\CPL0002"" , so the problem is the ACPI driver.

I installed the latest Intel Chipset drivers, but it didn't help Somebody who might know how to fix this? Because it is very annoying

sorry for my bad English, but I don't live in the USA or the UK. I live in The Netherlands

Whoah, you kicked a old thread of me mate.
But in fact I did manage to solve my issue. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with my system or the battery. The problem was caused by HWMonitor! HWMonitor causes this weird behaviour (why? I really don't know). After I stopped using HWMonitor (which started automatically on start-up), my problems went away!

I'm using my notebook (without HWMonitor ) for almost a year now without any problems!

Heh Heh. I would never expect that it might be HWMonitor. Use it to control the temperature, because as you know pretty much the Compal warm. I hope that will solve the case even with the driver for ACPI \ CPL0002. Nevertheless, thanks for the reply.
