W7 not allowing native LCD resolution
I have a couple of "older" machines that I'm trying to install build 7000 on. While they install OK, I cannot seem to get Windows to find the native display resolution of the built in LCD panels. One of the systems is an notebook (generic) and the other is an old Gateway 610 all-in-one. Both have a 1280x768 LCD panel. The 610 has an Intel 865G controller and the notebook also has shared memory video with a different Intel chipset. I understand that Aero won't work, so that's not an issue, but I really want to be able to set the resolution to 1280x768 and all that W7 will permit is 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 using the VGA driver it installs. Any ideas on how to get the driver to allow custome screen resolutions! (This works just fine under XP/Vista, BTW)
Thanks!
