I think the SFEP driver should be availible on windows update now. But if not just go to this link ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/VAIO/ORIGINAL/ and download the newest version of each one. Then just install them in the order I posted earlier in the thread and restart when needed and all should be good. (minus the camera) I dont use the camera so I haven't bothered with getting it working.

Right click on computer in the start menu and select manage, go to device manager and there should be an unknown device. Right click and pick update driver then specify the location and point to the folder you saved for the SFEP.

Where did you download the drivers for your vaio? Mine was originally installed with a 32bit Windows Vista and the only available drivers in sony's website are for my vaio CR are for 32bit OS. I have also installed Windows 7 64 bit now and my webcam, AV mode, card reader no longer work.

Look back a page. I think I've got the idea, but can't try it out until I get back to the hotel tonight. I've been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now. Thanks for the help!

Okay, I looked but I don't have an option for "unknown device" in my device manager?? Any suggestions

I still haven't figured out any answers. I've been trying to figure out how install those files, but I don't have an "unknown device" option in my device manager. I have "other devices" option, but that doesn't work either. I'm stuck and I really would like my webcam, fn keys, and av mode to work properly once again.

I'm pretty sure the SFEP will now show up in windows update, so that could be why you dont have any unknown devices. The FN keys and card reader have nothing to do with the SFEP i'm pretty sure anyways. Just read the posts on the first page. You can download all the latest installers for everything from the site I posted. Then you have to be sure to install them in the right order, otherwise it probably will not work.

    Same Problem...Need HELP!!!!!!!!

I just upgraded from Vista Home Premium 32 bit to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, and in my CR4000, those keys and functions are not working:
    av mode
mute (works but no display on screen)
volume control (works but no bar display on screen)
memory stick (doesn't work, and no icon shows in "my computer")
SD card reader (same as memory stick)
    fn key
    .....

And in Device Manager-Other Device-Mass Storage Controller with yellow "!"

I tried to do as to install those above mentioned drivers, but still I can't INTIALLY (if it must follow the order) install the SFEP driver since it's a .sys file? Could anybody tell me how to do with it?

BTW, how can I install webcam's (capture) driver on this model?

Many thanks for you great help in advance!!!!

    VERY URGENTTTTTTTTT........

From the above thread 14 -
Right click on computer in the start menu and select manage, go to device manager and there should be an unknown device. Right click and pick update driver then specify the location and point to the folder you saved for the SFEP.
