Hi ed209, for Win 7 Sony only offer "patches" for your model you can download the Vista drivers here Support for VGN-SZ48GN : SZ Series : VAIO™ Notebook : Sony Asia Pacific Install them in compatibility mode , they will run perfectly well on Win 7 :)

    I have install the patches,
after then I try to update Nvidia video or sdcard driver it show the message 'Failure to update the driver'. I have select Windows Vista in the file properties -> Compatibility.
    any suggestion?
    I am using 64bit OS.

Hi ed209, Look in the windows XP link on Sony site and use the OS upgrade/downgrade table ,this will help you migrate from XP to vista to win 7 Wether this will work for 64bit i'm unsure .All the originally installed drivers were for XP/Vista 32bit ,The software patches supplied only appear to update the sony updater software, Have you tried using that to update the drivers? Here is a link to the graphic card driver from Nvidia NVIDIA DRIVERS 179.48 BETA but be aware Sony like many other laptop manufactureres rewrite the graphic drivers to suit their (Sonys ) needs

I have successfully install the Windows 7, with all driver. thank for the help.
The error is the Win7 64bit problem, after I change to 32bit it can install all Vista driver.

May I know how to use the function key S1 S2? I installed the Vaio Control Centre but I can't find any related S1 S2 button.
