    What drivers do I need?

    Hi,

Firstly, I know this should be on the XP forums, but I can't post it for whatever reason, so its here.

Secondly, I'm trying to install XP 64bit while dual-booting with Win7 64bit, from what I know SATA drives, which is what my PC uses, isn't supported by XP so I need to download the drivers and plant them into the installation disc. Basically, I want to know which drivers I need to make XP run correctly. I've attached a link to the driver download page, so tell me what to get from there.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    These

are really optional, you might get a more updated VGA driver from the chip makers site. The other drivers are pretty much a must have. Usually there is a disc with a mobo that will install everything required to start you off.
    :)

Have a link for the latest Ati driver for your VGA.

    Hi Tom,

Download the SATA RAID Driver and save it to your computer under its default name of Floppy_Win7-64_Win7_Vista64_Vista_XP64_XP_RAID(3.3.1540.13)_AHCI(1.2.001.0275-1.2.001.0292).zip. Once downloaded, extract the contents and open the folder. Inside, there is a single folder named Floppy_RAID_AHCI. Open this folder and you will be presented with a list of folders. There is a RAID and AHCI folder for XP, Vista, and W7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions). The folder you require is XP64_AHCI, and you should copy the contents of this folder to a floppy and then use the F6 option when you install XP in order to load the driver.

    Hope this helps.

Slight problem there, the PC doesn't have a floppy drive. Only CD drive

You will need to integrate the driver using a utility such as nLite nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation - Download

The following video should also help. Note that the drivers the author is integrating are different from yours, but the principle and method are exactly the same.

More information can be found here: nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation - Guide

I'll do that. One question, Cyclic said I need the top five or so drivers, is that true or is it just the sata driver I need?>

Initially, it will just be the SATA driver that you require in order for the drive(s) to be recognised. You can also optionally integrate the other drivers as well, although you can always download and install them afterwards.

And do I just burn the files onto a cd after the driver has been put in the installation files?
