Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (error 10)

The device cannot start. Error 10.

I have installed the drivers various times and the controller will not work.

    I have an MSI Z77 GD55

It is a brand new build and it will not pick up the USB 3 controller. Everything else is fine.

    USB 3 driver

Do you have the device code for the controller (see the hardware device info for the device in Device Manager)? It will have a VEN and DEV number.
    Intel's vender number is 8086.

Have you installed the Intel Chipset drivers and the Intel Management Engine drivers?

    Certainly have....

I downloaded all of the latest MSI ones and installed them.

Is there a specific order to it?
    USB first?

    Is what it is, surely?

Cannot find a driver for that chipset any way.
Only Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.

Just in case there is a problem with the MSI drivers, you can also download the driver from Intel.

I will try that now but that does not look like the driver I need.
