Driver: Can't Find Anywhere; Where To Obtain ?

Hello,

It appears that the following one or two Drivers was not re-installed on my HP Desktop when I put in a new HD using the 3 HP System Restore Disks that I made 3 years ago when I got the PC.

USB\VID_14E0&PID_1101&Rev_0000
USB\VID_14E0&PID_1101

(not sure if 0 are a zero or an O ?)

Have been trying to find where to obtain them.
HP does not show them, and a Google search doesn't either.

Anyone have any idea, please, as how I can obtain them ?

And, if so, how do I actually install them ?
e.g., just put in the System32\Drivers Folder, or...?

BTW: what are they for ?

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob. Couple of questions if I may.

So you installed a new hard drive and then used the 3 previously made recovery disks to restore your HP to factory specs, is that correct? Is that when you received an alert or error message that the drivers were missing? If that's the situation have you gone to the HD manufacturer's website to make sure you've got the latest driver(s) for the HD or to ask their customer support if they have any idea what the driver(s) are for and where you can get them? Is the hard drive working correctly?

Or did you get the alert/error message for some other USB device? Have you checked Device Manager for any warnings about missing or outdated drivers?

Hi Bob,

You seem to be spreading your driver problems over several threads,

http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/234129-drivers-location-question.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/233953-possible-driver-problems-after-re-install-new-hd.html

Unfortunately for everyone involved this leads to confusion and possibly conflicting methods of solving your issues.

I understand these things can be frustrating but the best method is to stay in one thread until the problem is solved.

If you have questions or don't understand something asked of you, we can completely walk you through it, failure is not an option for us, we do need your help though.

You have several abandoned threads that may all be related to your hard drive replacement and an obvious less than perfect reinstall with the recovery discs you made 3 years ago.

As far as I can tell, all we know about your computer is it is an HP Desktop. Since you were able to figure out how to do an SFC scan, I'm confident you can help us help you by filling in

your system specs, this tutorial will help you http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html if you don't understand something just ask, preferably here.

Learning to use the snipping tool and how to post screenshots in your posts will help immensely, pictures speak volumes. Here are a couple more tutorials to start you off,

again, any questions just ask, How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista - Vista Forums

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

Like I said before, failure is not an option for us, but you have have to help us help you, if something is over your head just say so and we'll break it down for you.

almost sure it's USD 3.0 driver but try to use Fixio Driver Finder. :) it will detect the missing driver. At least it helped me with the same truble.
