The version for desktop boards is older (9.1.1.1015) so its best to download the latest (9.1.1.1019) under chipset drivers. Also while it mentions RC on the download page the install notes do not. Either way i installed them on my rtm install with no issues and it only updated the ich10r ahci driver. Have noticed no difference either way.

ive downloaded the following drivers
INTEL Chipset Drivers v9.1.1.1020, 2009-08-26 (All OS including Windows 7) v9.1.1.1019 Direct Intel Link, 2009-08-18 (All OS including Windows 7) their unpack the installer starts but it doesnt update any of the files, iv'e got a hp 1199ew and W7pro x64 RTM, i run rhe installer as an admin on my admin account. WTF is going one? |

Have you tried downloading the from www.intel.com to see if those install. I've had no issue install the new 7 drivers straight off, not compatability or admin required

yep both the ...19 and the ...20, but i read the manual and it says that the setup only updates the files if it needs to. so i think my system is up2date:)

good point, i may have been wrong.
but if you feel like quibbling, the term 'RTM' denotes software prior to being released to end-users. obviously your legitimate software has been released to you, and so is no longer RTM - unless you are a manufacturer. but this is very close to splitting hairs, and only pedants like myself would really care. |
