Intel HD Graphics 530 Unable To Install Driver

Hi all, I'm ready to pull my hair out. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Optiplex 3040 equipped with an i5-6500 and Intel HD Graphics 530 and I am unable to successfully install the correct driver. I have tried a few different versions including running Windows update and version 15.45.34.5174 which is linked in this forum over in the graphics card section and while they all seem to install fine according to the installation messages, they actually don't and in device manager it still shows as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter".

Anyone have any suggestions? Is Windows 7 not compatibly with Intel Graphics 530?

have you download HD530 its driver from Dell site and taken a try?

    when I re-installed my HP G3 (exact CPU/Graphics, Intel skylake CPU i5-6500T processor 6th generation/Intel HD Graphics 530). I couldn't get HD 530 driver right whatever I tried.

SIW2 let me try HP web and offerred a HP link.

    yes,
it worked. HP site was my HP G3 only solution. I had to take whatever HP provided.

Thank you, this sorta worked. I have a backed up image of Windows 7 that I restored to a fresh drive, which is the one that is giving me the problem I described in my original post. Basically showing a successful installation message for the Intel HD 530 graphics driver, but still displaying "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" despite confirming a successful installation.

I used a slightly older backup of the same image and that one doesn't have this same issue and the driver you linked works just fine one that one. Really strange because the images should be mostly identical. I which I knew why it doesn't work on the newer image, but just haven't been able to figure it out.
