System specifications. Click the blue "My System Specs" in the lower left corner just above the Post Reply button. Look at mine and then look at yours. System Info - See Your System Specs

thanks, the motherboard manufacturer is Dell inc. and the for the system model it says Inspiron 400 but on the website it said that the system model may not be the motherboard model on Dell computers.

Elvi, wait what is the intel chipset? is it one of those cd's the computer came with that I have to install? (im sorry for being lost...) or where do I get it from?

alphanumeric I dont know what the system specs is. I have tried searching for the drivers in the past, but got too much advertisements and stuff. I will try the manufacturers website.

Im just a little bit familiar with computers ( I had to search up chipset and finding the motherboard...), so im sorry if I sometimes get lost...
    Hi mehdi1511,

If I understand correctly, slow computer speed seems to be the root issue. 'Updated drivers' may impact the speed; good that you're trying to find updated drivers as suggested by the 'Driver assessment utility'.

A more reliable approach would be to compare the 'currently installed' driver versions with the best available drivers on the Dell Support website. 'Driver Assessment Utilities' may not produce best results with 'OEM units'; is likely to pull up driver information from the 'manufacturer's website' and may not take 'custom driver design' into consideration.

It appears that you used the correct link to access the system drivers: Drivers & Downloads | Dell United States
It is an Inspiron 400 system; you may also check/confirm your system configuration using the current 'System Configuration Utility': Product Support

To capture details of the 'currently installed drivers' in the system, please follow these steps:
    - Click 'Start icon' > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in 'Search Programs and Files' > Tap 'Enter' to access the 'Device Manager' page > Expand the 'Driver Category' (As per need) > Right click 'Device Driver' and select 'Properties' > Click 'Driver' to capture the 'Driver date & version'

Also share the name/details of all (6) 'out-of-date' drivers pointed by utility that you used.

System may run slow due to various other reasons also. I recommend you to run 'Hardware diagnostics' to check 'Hardware functionality'; refer to the following 'web article' for details:http://dell.to/OUGnqT
-Please capture and share error(s) if needed.

You may also observe the system behavior to find out if there is any noticeable pattern when the system slows down. Does it slow down during the 'Start-up'? Does it slow down when you access internet? Does it slow down intermittently; or always stays that way? Please share the findings; will take it forward.

Do reply with the information; would be glad to assist.

    Hi mehdi1511,

Apologies for the delay in my response; was away from work.

    1. Your system was shipped with an 'AMD RS780G Chipset'. You may use this link to update the 'chipset' to version: 1.3.1.49, A02 (Release date: 10/12/2009): Driver Details | Dell United States

    2. Also update the 'Realtek Card Reader' driver: Driver Details | Dell United States

    3. Install 'Windows Updates' if available; refer to this link: An update that improves the compatibility of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 with Advanced Format Disks is available

    4. Latest driver update for 'Ethernet': Driver Details | Dell United States

You may use the following link to install the 'Diagnostic Utility' in the computer: Driver Details | Dell United States
Alternatively, you may boot the computer using the 'Recovery CD' that you may have received with the system. (Recover Media has the 'Diagnostic Utility' on it)

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings; glad to assist.

    thank you
I downloaded all of them (saved some of them and just ran the rest), but it said I already had the windows updates. I downloaded the ethernet and tried to update it in device manager but it said that I already had the latest and it wouldnt update ( I still had the 6/8/2009 one, and not the 10/12/2009 one). and the diagnostic utility, when I tried to download it just turned into a tab full of computer texts. what should I do now, the computer is still the same

    Hi mehdi1511,

It appears that you tried downloading the 'CL1374A0.bin' file. Please download the 'CW1374A0.exe' file from this web page: Driver Details | Dell United States. I've tried / tested this link; you may install the 'Diagnostics' on an 'External Media' (USB drive). Refer to the following 'image':

help drivers out-of-date high "interrupts" cpu (where to find)-diags.jpg

Once the 'utility' is installed, you may boot the system with the 'USB flash drive' to initiate 'Diagnostics'. To boot from the 'USB drive', plug the 'media' in a 'USB port' > Power off the system > Power it back on > At Dell splash screen, repeatedly tap 'F12 key' > Boot from 'USB' > Tap 'Enter'

Dell computers are usually shipped with a 'Resource CD'. This CD has a pre-installed copy of 'Diagnostics utility' on it; and you may use it, if available.

Your system seems to have 'latest drivers' already; and are less likely to cause any slow-downs.

Do reply with the findings; will take it further.

    Hi mehdi1511,

    Thank you for the reply.
It will be useful to isolate 'hardware aspect' of the system as a possible culprit, before exploring other troubleshooting options.
