I just would like to format that entire hard disk and get rid of the dual booting option when I start the pc.
there is a 3rd party app called treeesize pro. the trial is free and it can find hidden folders and delete anything. It can even get into locked folders. You could download it, examine the folder to make sure, and delete it. You might even like it

Edit for link http://www.jam-software.com/treesize/

Thanks for the link! I managed to delete 4GB. The other files including the boot from windows xp which magically appeared hah can not be deleted, seems I need the adminstrator permission. Which is me, so how can I delete it? I'm guessing by deleting that file it would solve my problem with dual booting.

Just a point, but you posted this thread 3 hours ago, so could have done at least 3 re-installations in that time of Windows 7, which might have been easier in the long run imo.

Yep it would and you can run the delete from win 7 by running an "elevated" prompt. Im on a vista machine right now but there is a tutorial on how to in the tutorial section just go to tut's and search on elevated command prompt.

its here no need to search https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...E&sort=&order=

Im curious as to why treesize wouldn't delete them though. I will investigate and let you know. I only run as admin so I forget these things unless I can walk thru them

hope this helps

Hey guys, sorry I haven't replied to this thread earlier, I do wanna thank you guys for your help, but unfortunately I'm still having the same problem.

My hardisk C where it previously had Windows XP is occupying 12GB which I can't seem to delete because there is no folder for me to do so. So I'm using the folder is hidden. I tried using treesize but it too doesn't find the folder that is occupying 12GB.

Any help would be appreciated
