    Disable driver signing message

I am using win7 home premium. I want to disable the message Windows can not verify the publisher of this driver software. This message pop ups several times while installing Realtek Audio AC 97 Drive. Pl guide. I tried it to disable this message by gpedit-user config-administrative templates-system- code signing for device driver- setting-enable-ignore driver signing. But found no use.

    Run regedit

    and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Driver Signing.

Modify the policy key to 0000 00 (default is 0000 02).

    click ok and reboot.

Which motherboard are you using ???

    Few things to note....

    1. you are running a pretty old system... where Intel 915 gav doesn't officially support Windows 7 or vista. Desktop Boards — Supported operating systems .

so as far as i know... drivers for windows 7 is not there officially.

    check this as well http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...eng&iid=dc_rss

    2. The Realtek Audio AC 97 Driver which you are trying to install..... is it for Windows 7 or even Vista ????

My humble advice to you would be to either upgrade your Rig to make use of Windows 7 or rather use Windows XP as it has all the drivers you need to get the system working properly.

Trying to install drivers from unknown sources apart from Manufacturer of your motherboard or Sound card chip manufacturer is seriously not something you should do or recomended.

You will eventually end up getting BSOD's ...The choice is yours ....

PS: the point is you may or maynot get it to work eventually under win 7 and loosing your hair due to issue that arise after that is your call !!!
