a hard drive, 2 of them, then a mp3 player, then a headphones, and they are not broken, nor is the usb ports, (3 dif ones on 2 sides of laptop) no way they all broke at once...... another interesting thing is that they are all 2.0 but 2 of them say 1.1?
and in win xp it saus something like pci to serial controller but not here... i think win 7 automatically loaded wrong drivers
It,s your chipset drivers, get the ones from the program that I told you about.
yeppers ( remember you solve this problem you get a 100 bucks
(great wealth is subject to 99% taxation and the other .9% is kept my me as a retainer)
couldnt find it, and if its not free it wont let me dl them, also i doubt that program will find better ones for a win 7 64bit system, if i couldnt find them it wont, i am a driver blood hound, but i will try it, do you have the link by any chance? plz
Besides Everest pointing out the ATI RS480M Northbridge have you tried the System Info for Windows tool I mentioned at the top of the thread? When opening "hardwares" you click on the motherboard item which will then display the make and model board possibly an Asus model common with HP.
Have you tried using the Windows Update option and looking at the optional hardware/software updates at all? Once you know the make and model and can look over the specifications for the board you can go right to the chipset manufacturer itself if needed for the latest there.
The problems being seen there however seem to point at something else like a bad install of Windows to begin with if there isn't any problems with the board being seen since Windows has it's own generic usb drivers to start you off until everything is on.
every win 7 is the same with this problem
COME ON this is killing me i want my usb ports to work WwWWWWEEEeeeEEeeeeeee
