    Asus M2N32 Sli wireless edition

    Hey folks,

Just got windows 7 the other day for my laptop and I'm loving it so far. Runs absolutely fab on my HP DV9000. However I'm having some issues with wireless driver compatibility for my gaming machine. I'm running 64 bit windows 7 and I'm having to manually install the 64 bit driver for the built in wireless card for my motherboard. I install the driver, it detects the device no problem, and I can even see wireless networks. However when I try to connect to my home network, after I put the WPA-PSK passphrase in, it automatically fails to connect right away. I am convinced this is a driver issue because it works flawlessly on my vista ultimate 64 bit install.

Has anyone else had a problem with this board/driver?

The internal wireless card is the Asus WiFi AP-Solo module (realtek 81somethingorother chip name, I'll grab it when I get home)

Already attempted to install the latest vista drivers for the board in Win 7, again like I said, it allows me to view the networks, but when I attempt to connect, it fails. It will not work with the included vista x64 driver however, it only works with the generic included 64 bit driver. Am I missing something here?

Did you try to install them in compatibility Mode?

How exactly would I install the drivers in compatibility mode? I'm installing them thru device manager.

    Sorry about that,
Download and save the Driver on to the desktop, it's handier to find it there, double click on the folder and when the window opens, right click on the file, and click Properties, you will see
Compatibility Mode. Then install the Driver, using Vista.

Eh I guess I should've made my post more clear.

I was talking a bout the driver files not the application or installer application...

No version of the driver I have seems to get it working, the only one that even lets me look at network connections or is even working sort of is the generic 64 bit driver that comes with win 7.

Eh..I give up for now I guess. I'll just have to buy a new wireless adapter...
