Windows 7, Windows XP, Linux, BSD

Well its no help but I resolved the issue by rebuilding the laptop! And it works fine now. So I dont know what the cause was and I dont really have a resolution either! lol

Dual boot Windows-7 and Ubuntu 9.10

I have exactly the same problem described above : my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook 5000 mouse was originally discovered on my Windows-7 based Sony VAIO VPCCW13FD laptop. It worked for about a week or two. Then it stopped working (not pairing nor showing up when scanning for BT devices). I did reinstall the driver, tried to update it, tried the Broadcomm (or Widcomm) driver. I even tried the registry deletion solution. Some others proposed to install the Windows Mobile SW, which didn't help. My mouse is just not showing up when scanning (I make it discoverable don't worry!)

Now it seems like the only solution is to rebuild and reinstall everything and this is pissing me off alot...since it should be quite straightforward and plug an play to use a mouse!! I have a dual boot on my laptop with Ubuntu 9.10. The Linux Bluetooth driver seems to work better since I had no problems at all scanning or pairing my mouse. So the problem really comes from Windows 7 software or driver support for bluetooth!

Any hints?

Windows 7

I had the same problem on a new Dell Studio running on Windows 7 64bits with a Dell (Logitech) bluetooth travel mouse.
Downloading and installing the new Logitech Setpoint 6 version, removing the mouse from the installed hardware and auto-installing it again solved the problem in 10 minutes. Less work than restoring Windows 7...

Good luck!
