Hi,
That hardware should be capable of running Windows 7. In the Services tab of MSCONFIG uncheck everything except the Microsoft services, then click Apply and reboot your system. Does it startup any quicker?

I did how sugested but still takes around 15min to shutdown and startup all together

I did as you sugested, even though I had shutdown/startup problem before I had installed norton...will check is problem is solved now and let you know.

The best I can think of now is to run a full Startup/Shutdown trace using this tutorial:
Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace
This is a specialist area, so I'll ask Cluberti to follow up on this.
