Hi, Can you Please add Gateway to this list..

I used PCU-Z it says My
    Motherboard Manufacture is Gateway
    Model is H57M01

    Thanks..
Gateway was bought by Acer, that link is not working either.

    What drivers do you need?

I see several available under your model number,

    Attachment 387551

    Drivers & Downloads
Thanks for the info about it now being Acer..
I don't know what Drivers I would need I never Updated any of them from Gateway (Acer)
Will check out the link... Thanks
You're welcome, I doubt there is much if anything newer, I thought maybe you just did a clean install and needed drivers.

There really is no reason to update drivers unless you are having problems or need something a newer driver offers.

That link is a Gateway site, I was just pointing out that it was part of Acer now.

    Hi Sir,

    1. Are you looking for BIOS driver for your motherboard model Berks SSID: 844C ? You should refer the official hp support page for your product : Access Denied

    2. BIOS driver mostly work irrespective of windows version. Go ahead with the BIOS driver listed under win 10, It will automatically tell if windows version is a problem ( without any damage )

    3. Why do you want to update BIOS ? You are facing any issues ?
Updating BIOS/ Firmware(s) just to update everything, is not a good practice!
BIOS & Firmware updates are normally difficult to revert back. They don't even die with OS clean installation, formatting, recovery, repartitioning, etc.
Still if you want to update BIOS, Make sure you make BIOS Image on a pen drive & keep it safely aside. Recent BIOS drivers offer that option before updation.
( I am talking of BIOS image & not just the backup of BIOS settings )

    Thanks & Regards. ...

Here is the HP autodetect page that will link you to your motherboard download page.
    Access Denied

But if you have for instance an H370 chipset motherboard you are only going to find windows 10 drivers. In that case you are going to have to find your drivers somewhere other than HP but first you'll have to know your Hardware ID numbers. This link will help you with both.

Find unknown devices using a vendor and device ID. | Device Hunt

IMPORTANT NOTE: As of 4/4/19 the only way to get win7 running on an intel 370 or 390 chipset board is to use the motherboard's PS2 connector for your keyboard and mouse, and to use an external pci-e USB controller card, as the USB ports for this chipset do not run on windows 7. There is a huge thread linked below of people who are working on the issue and hack together a driver but as I said, no luck as of yet.
Forum - RE: USB 3.0/3.1 Drivers (original and modded) - 136

It would be good if you posted your motherboard details, preferably in a new post in the Hardware section of sevenforums requesting driver help. Run this command:

start > run > cmd > press enter (takes you to a command prompt) then type in

    wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version,serialnumber |clip

and press enter. This will put your motherboard details into the windows clipboard and you can then right-click-paste that into your new post.

Vineet--I love the word you coined "updation!" I've added it to the Win 7 dictionary

My computers are both 10 years old. Is there any need to update the BIOS? It's not something I know much about.

Most often not, no need to update bios.

If you google Gateway Desktop Support and HP Desktop Support it will take you to the HP and Gateway pages where you can key in your computer info, or it will offer to autodetect your machine. From there it takes you go to the download pages, where you can find bios updates. Then you can see all the versions of the bios they have, and you can find the one you're currently on by the date. (Belarc also shows you your bios level, but I did not see that in your post, just the bios date - either way works since all bios levels are published on a unique date so if you know your date you know your level). Then you look at the bios levels they list that have a more recent dates than yours, and you can see their notes as to what exactly makes those newer bios' different than your bios. Often it will just say "cpu support" or "memory support" which just means if you want to upgrade to a newer cpu or memory you will need to do a bios update. So you have no need to update bios in that case. But sometimes it will say "improved stability" or something like that, and in that case you may want to update your bios. BUT, as a general rule if your system is working fine its better to not mess with the bios.

    Hi RoWin7,
    Greets,
    Sir, Thanks for the compliments!

BIOS Updations ? No need if all is working well.

To mention again that BIOS updation does not die with Clean Install, Recovery, Format, System Image Restore, Repair install, etc OS specific things.
And It is normally not suggestible to revert back to a previous BIOS version but it was needed & done well in some cases.
It gets critical when it is not even possible or one will land in trouble. I came across some BIOS Updations that said you can't revert back to a previous version once you install it.
In that case if a newer BIOS causes some problems, you have no way out but to wait for another new version which fixes that fault if it comes ever!
I remember my Senior at this moment & would like to mention some instances where BIOS updation was/is needed.
In these cases, the support websites specially mentioned that this BIOS driver update will solve such & such problem/situations.
I came across some situations :
    a) When some new hardware came in the market after the PC/Motherboard production & compatibility was added to the BIOS in a new version for those newer devices.
    b) System stability with some devices was improved.
    c) Some BSODs were corrected in the newer BIOS version.
    etc.

Are you facing any problems which are listed to be corrected with a newer BIOS version ?

    Thanks & Regards. ...

    Updation 1 :

If you are not having/facing any problems & BIOS version just says System Stability is improved, try to look into what that system stability is all about ?

The same thing is applicable to device firmware updates like Optical CD/DVD Drive Firmware, Router Firmware because they are also often permanent.

The same thing should be followed in other device drivers case as well but it is easy to revert back to a prior status because they are OS specific. They may be changed by a Clean install, System Image Recovery, recovery, etc.

    So,
Do you want to update BIOS ?

    Updation 2

I was just updating BIOS on my 2014 laptop & it offered me two different backup options :
    (i) Backup BIOS settings on pen drive
(ii) Make BIOS Image on pen drive

I think BIOS Image will be able to revert back to the previous BIOS version as well but i am not sure ?
Besides, Latest machines are coming with very rich bios. Do they offer BIOS Image type backup options ? Not sure.

    Let me know.

    Thanks & Regards. ...

"Are you facing any problems which are listed to be corrected with a newer BIOS version?"

I don't think so. Any issues seem to be OS-related, not hardware. Thanks for the explanation anyway. I've replaced a BIOS chip only once in the 25 years I have Windows, and I'm not touching it if I don't have to. Can-of-worms.
