    i see the problem. its saying your is chicony but acer doent have driver for 32bit. double check if you have 32bit. if you do, contact acer and ask what up with that.

    extracted the .exe file form the zip and then double-clicked it to install the drivers, but after clicking Finish when complete, I got back a msg that the program may not have installed correctly...I clicked OK to proceed anyway. Reflecting on my decision, I chose to double-click the .exe file again and was presented with the option to Repair the first installation, which I chose. Did not get the error message the second time. What puzzles me is that the "USB cam" that appears in the Device Manager shows properties of a Microsoft camera...where is my Chicony!?

    ok acer is using this vista driver. they do that sometimes.

    Exactly, and the sixth camera driver down is an x86 driver (32bit)...

    So, latecomer, do I use the sixth one down in your post #46 or the second one down in your post #47??
