    hello,

    1.) Driver Installation (x64)

    Download the lates Driver from
    http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/Handset_USB_Driver_64/Handset_USB_Driver_x64_v3.7.0.msi

You have to register as Developer first.

Don't start the MSI, it will not work.

    Create an Folder "C:\Driver"

    Decompress the MSI-File (Start/Run CMD):

    msiexec /a Handset_USB_Driver_x64_v3.7.0.msi /qn TARGETDIR="C:\Driver"

Since we have no "add hardware" in control panel, we have to install this driver manually.
    The Hardware-Wizard still exist.

    Start/Search -> hdwwiz.exe

I don't know the exact text, because i'm using the german version...

    - Button "next"
    - select "hardware manually (expert)"
    - Button "next"
    - select "All Devices"
    - Button "next"

Now you have to search for the Button "have disk". in my german version i can see only 10 % from the button in the lower right side. click on this button and search for the folder

    C:\Driver\Common Files (64-Bit) Folder\Motorola Shared\MOTPCSDrivers\Drivers

    - Select "motmodem"
    - Button "Open"
    - Button "OK"
    - Select "Motorola" on left side
    - Select "Motorla USB Modem" on right side
    - Press "Next"
    - Press "Next"

    Done..

    2.) Motorola Phone Tools

Install the Tools and all available Updates. Don'´t Cancel the installation, it will take some time (5 minutes on
    my system)

    3.) Driver Installation again

Motorola Phone Tools will install an old Drive that is not working with "Windows 7". Repeat step 1

    that's all..

    Greetings from Germany

    Olaf

I had a razor 3 and now have a Motorola W755 and Windows 7 found the drivers for both. If I want to transfer stuff between my phone and pc I use my wireless bluetooth dongle. I gave up using the Motorola Phone tool a long time ago as it doesn't support all Motorola Phones and some of the features are use less.

    How to extract...

You need to set your targetdir to the user logged in (if not logged in as admin...)

TARGETDIR="C:\Users\{username}\Desktop\" is what I used, then copied the 2 folders and the 2 files extracted to C:\Driver

    Hope it helps.

I have the full October 22 release of Win7/Professional, and it doesn't work for me. Using the Hardware Wizard and installing the driver says it "installed successfully", but when I try to run the Motorola Phone Tools, it gets to the point where I select the button for "Connect by cable", and then it says it "can't find the device", and that's where the process ends. Is there anything newer?

bherber: The Motorola driver needs to be successfully installed before phone tools will be able to recognize the phone. The drivers the driver file that worked for me was: Motorola_Driver_Installer_x64_3.9.0.msi

Do a quick Google search for it, download and install it and then give Phone Tools another try.

I downloaded and attempted to install the file Motorola_Driver_Installer_x64_3.9.0.msi. It downloaded a later version: Motorola_Driver_Installer_x64_4.0.0.msi Attempting to install this file gives the error message: "This driver installer does not recognize your operating system. The installer will now exit." So, I guess that one doesn't work either... Thanks for helping.

So far but not so good ...

I too have Motorla Phone Tools. I can get it installed - no problem. I can even drag and drop appointments from Razr phone to PC and vice versa. But when it comes to the synch facilities ... that's where it all comes apart. If I use the secure synch' with the records in on the PC protected, it works - appointments transfer from the PC to the phone without any issues. But when I switch over to the full synch, it gets so far an the program crashes. Actually, that's not quite true - it worked once. Just once. I've tried reinstalling and everything Motorola told me to do but to no avail, when they finally told me rather lately, "Oh! It doesn't work on Windows 7. I gather the software company are developing a version to deal with the issues caused by Windows 7." I suppose the best we can hope for it they'll bring it on sooner rather than later but I've volunteered to be a non-techy beta tester of the program when it gets to that stage.
