    Please Help

Hi, I'm going through the process you guys have but I find whatever I do it says unable to charge. I believe this is because as soon as it says that it disappears and no longer shows as a device. I can just open the properties page and then it shows as disconnected.

I'm getting desperate now as my charger has broken. I am literally without any phone until I can get this to work.

    New Motorola Drivers

Good news. Get the 4.2.0 version from here:

USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola USA

I just installed the 64 bit version on Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise and it is charging my RAZR V3xx phone now. I don't use the phone tools software so I don't know if that works or not. I'm just happy its charging now.

    Cheers!

I had a similar problem with my rizr z3 under win 7 32bits synching thru BT using a Bluesoleil adapter. Initially it was saying that the phone could not communicate with mpt. Tried installing the windows mobile center, nada. Then managed to get mpt update all the way to ver 5.24a and everything is working fine.
Give it a try to see if it works, shouldnt be too different

No drivers yet for Phone Tools

I just got off the phone with Motorola customer support 1-877-777-7520 and was told that there are currently no drivers for the Motorola phone tools. None available through live update. I got the same answer back in November. What's taking them so long??

    I got it to work...finally.

First I installed the new 4.2.0 drivers that "jridpath" posted a link to. After they were installed I plugged in the phone, and immediately it recognized the phone and started charging.

THEN, I started the PhoneTools application. It didn't immediately recognize the phone but it recognized it enough to ask me if I wanted to download software updates. (There were about 4 of them in my case, and most of them were pretty big.) I let it finish doing all of the software updates, then I rebooted my machine. When it came back up I launched the PhoneTools app again, and THIS TIME it came right up, recognized the phone and works like it did in XP.

Maybe that will work for you.

I've updated my drivers as much as possible, and Phone Tools is STILL telling me it cannot detect my phone. When it prompts me for the live update thing, it's telling me everything is up to date.

I know the computer is detecting my phone, because it's plugged in and charging. But I can't get the Phone Tools program to detect it. Help? =((( I want to get these files off of this old phone so that I can finally get a new phone!

So you have been able to get MPT to work on windows 7???

I have had no luck...it just says...OS not recognized. Im running a 32 bit...Home Premium . The Motorola web site says its not compatible and they are working on a patch..or a new version. I am a little scared to mess around to much...as i have read a few horror stories on several different sites about having to reinstall whole operating systems after trying to get MPT to work. Any advice?

Never mind....It finally appears that Motorola has come out with their update. According to their website, if you are already running a version of MPT , you should be able to use the live update program to update to version to 5.27. The site says 5.27 is windows 7 compatible. I am going to try this tonight and try and report back tomorrow. Good luck.

Is there a simple solution.. I'm not a computer guy. Retired guy living in Phuket Thailand. I have a few V3i's and will be getting a V8.. Anything that is easy. My V3 dis is 4.O so it would load! Is this going to work for me as I really like the Moto Phone Tools..
