    When it comes to hardware that requires drivers, is it best to install the drivers before you put in the hardware into a PC?

    It depends upon the hardware in question. More often than not you install the hardware first and then the driver(s), but refer to the manufacturers instructions.

My friend has a computer with Dell windows 7 home premium as do I. She is having trouble with her computer and I offered to do a reinstall for her but she can't find her OS disk. Can I use my computer's OS disk or will that conflict with anything?

I want to shrink the single partition on my 3TB HDD to make space for a Windows x64 system partition(using GNU Parted). My mainboard supports EFI so I should be good as far as that goes. My question: Is Windows Setup actually able to make use of the space I'll create without wiping the entire disk?

Just wondering. I have XP Pro 32bit as of now with W7 Pro Upgrade on order. Will W7 recognize my cpu as 64bit compliant, and give me the option to install 64bit OS instead of 32bit? Thanks, D.

I am running Vista 32 bit on a Striker board machine with 3 hard drives. When I install Win 7 I am going to want to first back up my current C: drive onto one of the other drives on the machine and then do a format of the durrent drive C and install Win 7 64 bit. Exactly what options on the install...
