How to check whether the drivers will work?

    Hello friends,

So I have the DVD with Windows 7 installed on it, it is booting on start up, everything's fine. I have also downloaded and burned on another DVD all the drivers for my laptop.
I downloaded them from the official website of the manufacturer of the motherboard of the laptop. Now my idea is, when the windows crashes and needs to be pre - installed, I install it using the booting DVD and then when it is ready I put the other disc with the drivers on it and install the drivers like for internet, sound, the touch pad and stuff like that.

I am sorry if I sound silly, but I just wanted to ask whether the way I have done these things will actually work because I really want to learn how install my OS by myself.
I once pre - installed the Windows, but I had no idea that you have to install drivers as well so we had to bring the computer to the town to fix it. Silly me!

Also, is there any way to check whether the drivers I have downloaded are the right ones and will work? I see that they have the same names as my drivers currently installed, if that's anything.

    Thank you!

    Best Regards
    Stefany

They should be fine if you downloaded them from the manufacturer. In the future, store them on a flash drive instead of a DVD, so you can open and run them from the drive (if they need to be run that way). I also do this so I can keep them updated, in case I need to reinstall at any point.

With Windows 7, you always should take advantage of the 30 day trial, before putting in your key. This way, if something doesn't work and the system is messed up, you can always start over without wasting an activation.

Hi Layback Bear. I am new to the sevenforums so maybe it wasn't the best way to layout my signature. I tend to be active a lot on the Dell forums. I tried to attach my wikies to my signature as I tend to refer to them alot. I have put quite a bit of detail into them. I am the author of the given links i.e. I am the same Dell Community Rockstar natakuc4 who wrote them and other guides http://en.community.dell.com/dell-gr....aspx#20182221.
